It's our third day in a row without getting rained on! Hurray! It's a generally happy day today: the clouds put on a show for us, the breeze was playful, and there was sun and sea and sand. And Michael's birthday, but every time I bring that up he does his classic headshake and "aww" thing or comes back with "It's your birthday!", which has an obvious flaw. But despite his modesty, we're having fun with it. We went for a walk along the harbor's breach wall and the marina; it's fun to see what people have decided to name their boats. We also walked along the boardwalk. Apparently lots of famous people come vacation here, because there were long banks of dressing rooms with names on them, such as Gene Kelly or Buzz Aldrin. Or the dressing rooms are just named after famous people; there wasn't an official explanation for the names. But this is obviously a fantastic place to come relax (Napoleon actually moved his entourage here back in the day, which explains all the super fancy buildings around here).
There is also a mini-golf course down by the boardwalk, so we played a round. It was lots of fun. We didn't keep score, which was good because we both usually required several many hits above par, but Michael finished strong with two holes-in-one in a row. So I guess he won by default. (:

| We went for a walk along the breach wall that protects the harbor. |
| There is an ocean and a classic sandy beach and a sailboat right behind that wall, I promise. Beautiful. |
| See? Though I guess you still need to take my word on the sailboat. |
| Michael decided a good birthday activity was mini-golfing. I concur! |
| Roll, ball, Roll! |
| My "It finally went in the hole" dance. |
| Mini-golf courses are pretty standard world round: Fun! |
| We were playing behind a rather large family with small children, so we had plenty of time to pose with the course decorations. |
| No birthday candles yet, but a wishing well does the trick, too! |
| Giants are storming the castle! |
| We are both so so happy to be here. |
