We took the EuroStar from Paris to London this morning; it's a really convenient way to travel! It's way less hassle than getting to the airport and on a plane. Anyway, about halfway through the journey they switched from giving the announcements over the PA system in French first then in English to English first, then French. Then it was nice to be able to walk up to the underground ticket counter and explain exactly why we were confused and what we needed and understand the explanation the first time around. Although to be fair, both of our French comprehension has noticeably improved, even though the speaking is still shaky.
London is all set up for the Games, and it seems like (aside from the people) it'll be easy to find our way around, since all the signs giving directions are augmented for extra clarity and ease of transporting thousands of tourists. It didn't take long to make our way through the Underground system and find our hotel, which is really swanky. Michael's brother Scott is joining us in London for a few days, so we have a really nice studio set up with a kitchen and everything. And we get to go see the Men's Gymnastics tomorrow, so this weekend is shaping up to be awesome.
Also, what we did yesterday: it stormed for most of the day, so we spent it hanging out with my cousins and watching movies. Aunt Kris, Uncle Alain and my grandmother-in-law, Collette, came for dinner, and Michael and I cooked for everyone. We made American hamburgers (which are difficult to replicate in France, because the meat is different... we didn't think that through all the way, but apparently they came out alright) and chicken, since I'm the picky eater here (which I thought was moderately successful). It was very nice to get a chance to see everyone right before we left! Our time in France was absolutely wonderful, and I was so happy to get to see family.
Now: grocery shopping so we can use this kitchen tonight!

| It's earlier than we're used to, considering our vacation time-table, but we're still smiley. |

| Our studio for the next few days. I decided I needed to take a picture quickly before we move in too much! |
